About Juhui
Starting with a no-budget featurette, Juhui has been rigorously exploring her voice in cinema and striving to tell honest stories. Hailing from South Korea, Juhui holds an MFA in Writing and Directing Fiction Films from City College of New York and studied under the guidance of the late Chantal Akerman. Upon graduation, she was nominated for a NYWIFT (New York Women In Film and Television) MFA Scholarship fund. For the last few years, while working on her own narrative project, Juhui has been working in video content creation for corporate, advertising and media clients, and taking on film editor’s roles. Her editor’s credits include short films that are selected at Toronto International Film Festival and Venice International Film Festival.

Juhui's films have been known as conversation starters. Her films tend to center around themes of diaspora, cultural clash and gender - giving the audience a unique chance to see this world through a female expat's lens. She also brings her independent filmmaking experience and extensive knowledge in arthouse cinema to the table, making each screening and speaking engagement event both educational and entertaining.
